High contrast and High key photography can be pre determined in pre production, yes all photography and video we work with has some form of pre production,
if this is the look that the agent or client wants to achieve it is fairly simple, to me its a very strong sometimes dramatic picture,
its the opposite of a standard model shot soft picture
the backdrop in this instance is popped, the wardrobe is contrast to the backdrop, this can also work well with colours such as a red wall with a yellow outfit.
